Fallout 2 - Soundtrack - 'Gold Slouch' (Redding)

The soundtrack for Fallout 2 was composed by Mark Morgan. On May 10, 2010, it was released together with the Fallout soundtrack on Morgan's Vault Archives album.

Theres an easter egg in new vegas where you can find the highwayman from fallout 2 buried in a radioactive puddle, this song plays when you go near it

The electric guitar riffs just give me the chills. 

I love how this feels like it belongs in both a western and a sci-fi movie. Perfect bridge of genres.

Redding was the first sign of the New Vegas western charm. Same great developers, same great ideas.

The fact that Obsidian put a lone highwayman half sunken in the ground in the game with this music accompanying it shows they have respect for fans who played their legacy games.
Someone like me who was born too late to experience Fallout when it was first introduced, hearing this music just made me stop and take the sight in. What is this car, what does it represent? Where did it come from... and who owned it? Then you go research a bit and you learn it's the chosen one's car.
Regardless if it's actually supposed to be or not that feeling of a discovery to a legacy character in a connecting world between two different games just made me want to explore the game more and find more ways they referenced the original Fallout games.

God the music and Atmosphere is why Fallout 2 is up there with New Vegas as my favorite games out of the series.

This is an iconic Soundtrack. I was watching The Stand miniseries from the 90s the other day, and there was a desert scene with a near identical guitar riff in episode 1. Interesting.

This should've played near Goodsprings in New Vegas! Suits the area near Sloan incredibly well!

The reason tracks like this don't play in New Vegas is because it's far enough ahead in the future that humanity is established and thus a lot of the tracks need to reflect that. Still definitely has its fair share of completely soul crushing, hope sapping, depressing and lonely tracks though.

It's pretty amazing how deep and atmospheric this soundtrack is. I still remember the first time I played this game and I was 12

The only games that got such impression on me to that date were Rock 'n roll racer, Super Mario World, Ace combat, Resident Evil II and Half Life' s mod "Counter Strike"

I really wish they'd make the next game a little "darker". This game was scary to play. They could release two versions of it, I don't mind. Sweet memories of prostitutes and junkies using "jet" in some post apocalyptic places

I finally found this area and theme after so many yrs by accident. Heard the theme and just sat there letting it play nonstop in the background. It's really good like the theme from Metallic Monks.

This music gives you an impression that you come far in your journey in a hostile place, when the guitar starts you fell a mix of tiredness, loneliness and happiness to be still alive.
