16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
Third book after Genesis, Leviticus follows Moses through the weightier matters of the Levitical priesthood and who better to show us how it is done than Moses and his brother Aaron of the Tribe of Levi. Hence the word Leviticus means “things” pertaining to Levi. Levi was the third son born to Jacob (who name was changed to Israel) of the 12 Tribes of Israel. Since leaving Egypt the people did not always find themselves walking in righteousness, The Lord God implemented animal sacrifices for the Law of the Meat, Peace, Burnt, Trespass and most of all the Sin Offerings. Jesus Christ had not come yet to take the remission of Sins away. ( New Testament). Moreover Leviticus shows us the priests portion, their duties, anointing of priest and special sacrifices while fulfilling the priesthood among the people. The Lord spake unto Moses saying, put a difference between holy and unholy, and between unclean and clean. To make a difference between the unclean and the clean, and between the beast that may be eaten and the beast that may not be eaten. The Feast of the Lord are outline in Leviticus 23 (v6 Unleavened bread 1st Day; v8 Unleavened Bread 7th Day; v16 Pentecost meaning “fifty”’; v24 Memorial of blowing of Trumpets; v27 Atonement; v34 Feast of Tabernacles; v36 & 39 The 8th Day. The Lord spake unto Moses in Mount Sinai saying speak unto the children of Isreal saying, you shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall you set up any image of wood or stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am the Lord your God. You shall keep my sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary: I am the Lord. Conditions for vows and tithes are outline in Chapter 27. And if you will not hearken unto me, but walk contrary unto me, Then I will walk contrary unto you also in fury, said the Lord. Chapter 26: 44-46 And yet for all that, when they be in the land of their enemies, I will not cast them away, neither will I abhor them, to destroy them utterly, and to break my convent with them; for I am the Lord their God. But I will for their sakes remember the covenant of their ancestors, whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the heathen, that I might be their God: I am the Lord, These are the statutes and judgements and laws, which the Lord made between him and the children of Israel in mount Sinai by the hand of Moses.
