Bill Wilson and Massad Ayoob love Colt Pythons. Bill grew up shooting his Colt Python and it was his first competition gun. Now Bill has quite the collection of rare pythons and he shares some of his collection with Massad. Between the 1/14" rifling twist, and the crisp trigger action, it doesn't get much better than a Colt Python.

ABOUT BILL WILSON Bill Wilson has always been infatuated with guns. I have the 2020 Colt Python. I carry it around and I love it.

Squeezes through a DA several times, and the barrel doesn't shake at all. That's some impressive trigger control.

Carried a 4 digit serial nickel Python on duty in the mid 70’s. Smoothest trigger of any firearm I’ve ever had. One unique issue with Python has been cylinder going out of alignment and shaving bullets and affecting accuracy and safety. Also had a “softer” hammer strike than Smith and Wesson and occasionally failed to fire. And its damn heavy. When you wear it on a gun belt 10-12 hours you know its there!

I bought a preowned 4 inch blue python for my dad that was mint in 1972 for $325.00. He never fired it ! I’m pretty sure it had never been fired before I bought it. And he gave it to me a while back before he passed away. It is a cherished heirloom. I don’t have anybody to pass it down to so it will be going on the block soon. I put less than one box of cartridges through it. RIP dad. You are missed😘

Bill Wilson loves the original Python and has thousands of rounds fired through them without the timing issues people claim.

Same works for subgun competitors! I’ve shot NFA registered submachine gun competitions since late 80s and I struggled mastering semi-auto handgun. It’s completely different trigger control, but t I’m getting better focused on achieving!

My first handgun training was a Beretta 96D. Double action only. I still, to this day, am on and then off of the trigger lickity split.

Old school Colt Pythons are a work of art.

If it was anyone other than Bill Wilson. Particularly a younger gun guy on YouTube; the core audience of this Channel would freak out for dry firing a revolver, particularly an original python.
