The kids give up their GCSE years to dedicate themselves to the clubs. There needs to be a program where the kids that are rejected are given full funding for education to get themselves what they've given up for the cause. Everything they've learnt can be redirected into coaching qualifications / sports science etc. needs to be turned into a positive for them. Along with immediate counselling to cope with the transition.

Fine line between expectation and reality. Sometimes, it can often be environment. If you work, you can find a place that fits.

With hard work, sometimes that dream requires going a circuitous route - see Robertson, who’s won it all and on course to be Scotland’s record caps holder. Had to go to amateur and back again.

Had the pleasure of meeting Tony Pulis whilst he was watching his grandson play. Bonded over Newport and him being in the same year as my mum is school. Great guy and his joy seeing his grandson play at academy level was obvious. It’s clear it means the world to him. Great documentary!

Such crazy stats of success. I was at Rover's academy. Dislocated my knee at 16, dropped. Scouted again broke my ankle 2nd game back. Game over. Sometimes it's just not meant to be.

18:10 so many fail to understand this, same with school... teaching how to be a good person... don't care about your math skills if you are a bad person.. this is important to me as a teacher

Application is everything. When you have nothing to begin with except your talent and the fire in your belly to succeed then you will, but if you think you are the real McCoy then you will not have the same passion to succeed. Unfortunately most youngsters fall into the latter category.
