Cowboy Bill Watts is a legitimate legend in the wrestling biz. He ran his promotion like he should have or we wouldn’t be talking about him today.

Mr. Dibiase I was just watching "legends of wrestling II - Terry Funk Interview" on YouTube. At around the 3:20 mark he mentions how your dad carried him around the ring at a young age an showed him game. Was just very interesting. Wish we knew more about Iron Mike Dibiase 🙏 🕊️ 🫡

Bill was a great storyteller, esp in setting up turns and swerves

My take on Bill Watts. 1. "My way or the highway"- wrestlers come and go, and you can only count on yourself, which is why promoters so often pushed themselves (or their sons, like Von Erichs), because that's who they could trust the most. 2. "Bully" - wrestling is grown tough guys with different personalities, various substance issues, and different opinions of their worth. You have to establish dominance if you are going to run a business. Watts had to balance his creative, his money/payouts, and his locker room discipline over a bunch of grown men that acted like teens with no leash. His way was to establish the rules, and enforce them rigidly. Guys who couldn't do that call him a bully. (Except the most penalized one ever, Buddy Landell, who sang his praises.)

If I agree to work for $X and get paid $X, I have no complaint. If I can renegotiate to get more, I will; if not, I'll look for another job. Complaining about your pay after you've agreed to a price isn't productive.

Ted, didn’t have a problem with Bill, Because he was always in The Main Events.
