Don't understand why this day and age dashcams don't leverage a solar panel to provide backup power while in parking mode?

The u3000 does a great job with heat & cold just wish they update their cloud feature, came with lte, more options alerts like tell what time it happen instead of just how many.Another thing with u3000 parking mode with my powercell 8 i havent charged the battery pack in months thanks to that now if it was a blackvue I would need to charge every day depending on long my drivers were & it was annoying really when i had to. I do wish they update their night time video it's not that good especially how much so many brag about the star 2

I have a couple of questions though. If we get an OBD Power Cable, shouldn’t we be able to power any dash cam? Why did you mention this as an option only for Thinkware Q200 from this list? Moreover, if I opt not to use GPS connector with Q200, will all other features still work fine?

I got BlackVue from you guys in 2021. Every single time when I needed it did not work. It finally died (infinite reboot) and I’m looking for new one. I will never again get any BlackVue product!

Also what they did with “on by default” live stream of audio and video to the public….. will lend them with nasty class action

Thanks for the informative review. My question is that

1) Does the PowerCell 8 have higher capacities other than 7500mah?

2) Do you guys sell power cable to power the power cell 8 in house (which I can use to charge the battery in the confort of my home and simply return back to the car when full)

3) Is thinkware planning on doing anything on the image quality in terms of firmware update or the likes?

I've using dashcams in our vehicles for over 12yrs. However, I too have been apathetic in updating our systems (though mounting is the reason). About 6 yrs ago I was side swiped in the parking lot of Cedar Point--never saw the vehicle and neither did the front nor the rear camera catch anything but the aftermath (rear camera). Luckily the kids in my truck and the other driver were ok. I swore I would install side-viewing cameras, but here I am 6 yrs later....

I still have my BLACKVUE 450-1ch and it works great. I use it as a portable for travel. I may upgrade my VIOFO A119-2ch as it's power-cycling now.

i'm just curious, with the blackbox battery, does that mean i wouldn't have to hardwire my dashcam if i wanted 24hr protection? is it something that needs to be recharged?

One thing I don't understand, is how they can possibly have 4k front, 2k rear, and potentially even a 1080p interior, and still use the same v30 microSD card. How can they possibly write all of that video to the card? Seems like they would need a better card, or multiple cards.

Do you have a video on how to install the Viofo A229 Pro To the fuse box (have a radar detector hardwired to the mirror already) for someone not mechanically inclined. And if we got the battery cell how would you connect that as well hardwired as my 12V are already occupied. Connection the 3 way camera is already one thing but adding the battery cell?

It would be great if someone can create a front Dash Cam for your front license plate. Preferably 2K or 4K for pickup Trucks. Dash Cams over heat on windshield. Not to mention in the way, when you put sun shades on windshield. Also pickups are great when you have a front cameras, so you can park closer to curbs or parking lines. Nobody sells front cameras that are dash cams and not a rear camera showing a mirror image with backup lines. You also don’t have to worry about reflection from windshield or wet windshield blocking view.

I was looking into getting a dashcam a bit ago, but I noticed on your website that you may not do installs on BMWs. Is that still the case, and if so, I'm curious as to why.

I assume there's something about their setups that make it incredibly annoying to install on. For instance, I have a 2019 X1, and I'm curious if that's a model you have done or would do installs on.
