I'm not a Chelsea fan but really devastated for him. Any player that has a chance and doesn't get chosen. He's a brilliant player but rather not take the risk. Won't be match fit but also he might have pushed himself too hard too fast to be ready and injured himself even worse. Probably felt he'd be ready, because he wanted to go, and was willing to potentially ignore some tweaks he felt in favor of rushing to get fit. He's still so young, he'll be in his peak for 2026.

Shame for him and he is one of our better Full backs, but I had the feeling after paying close attention to him during the summer nations league matches, he really does get caught out of position very often on turnovers and switches from the middle of the park. He can sometimes get away with it because of his freak athleticism, but against a side like France or Brazil, it's gonna cost you. I think given how dopey our centre halves are, we need more reliability at full back on both sides going into this tournament.
