Is remapping your VW caddy maxi really worth it? In this video I talk about the remap I had done on my 1.6Tdi VW Caddy Maxi. The remap cost £240 and I had mixed feelings about the results.

I haven't done the remap yet. I've done everything else. I'm fully deleted EGR, exhaust, etc. I run a catch can too. Clean air going through my 1.9 TDI. I feel like the van moves better. It's not restricted anymore. She can breathe! I'm gonna order a tune in the comming weeks. She already goes hard for what she is. She's a little go-getter. If you want the big improvement in MPG you also need a full emission delete. Cat egr blue and dpf all gone. The gain is more than 10 mpg. The 44mm turbo limits max power and torque potential to around 150hp and 240lbs. With unblocked everything the turbo spools up from just 1200 rpm. Exhaust note and volume improves a bit as well maybe 15% more.

Hiya Will, Very sensible & honest report son, too often we hear all these quotes it will do this & that. Appreciate your comments . I have a Golf 7 with 1.6TDI & toying with the idea of having a remap. My Son says go ahead as he has a 2018 Golf R that he's had a stage 2 done too. Had it done a while & NO issues at all regarding Clutches, Drive train etc etc, Ok had his DSG tuned as well but its been fine, despite people saying certain components cannot cope with that power. The pulling power / torque is unreal. Again good video Will well done.

I have a 1.6tdi blue motion caddy 2011, I brought it with the cruise control already there, all operated on the left stick.

I've got a 1.6tdi fabia which was mapped by junction 28 remaps. Can't tell a difference whatsoever. Might need to get it on a dyno to see what power it actually makes

My Caddy has cruise control and a trip. Computer so its definitely possible

Hi mate I've just had my vw caddy maxi British gas vans remap was a big change but after 24h of having it done the return pipes on the injectors started leaking did u have the same problem

Quantum have increased their prices, £349 for a remap on my caddy. Think its worth it at that price? I'm still debating it.

I don’t know but when I got my remap I just about do 320 miles on a full tank

I have a 1.6 Caddy Startline. I got it about a month ago, 2013 model SWB. It has cruise (a must in my opinion), heated part leather seats, aircon, headlight washers all came with the van so it seems that you ought to be able to add these options with some coding carried out, watch Dan Chambers YouTube channel. I have had security locks added and I am now in the process of adding sound deadening using Dodo Mat, next job insulation. The stereo system you have is one I have considered, is it any good?

I'd like to see the MPG difference at 60 and 70 mph

Shame that but still quite impressive with the power increase. I've managed 600miles a tank on the standard map but that's with new filters high tyre pressure and long journeys. Cruise control would probably be a better way of increasing the MPG and you're absolutely right about the cruise and trip functions, the genuine stalks are £60 online and that's all you need apart from activating in the ECU. VW van centre also told me it wasn't possible but it couldn't have been simpler.
