I make handmade belts from bridle leather but I just use one piece of thick leather rather than two thinner pieces. Im curious what weight leather you use for each of the two pieces? I use one piece of 12oz and I cant imagine much thicker than that. I used a piece of 12oz and a piece of 6oz once and it is REALLY thick. You could hand a bucket of lead from your waist with that one.
