I got in two weird old CD-ROM drives that don't use the traditional tray-loading or slot-loading systems.

I've had that second one installed on an old desktop system I had as a kid back in the late 1990s to early 2000s that my dad had installed above the 5.25" floppy drive. He never got the CD drive working though.
This brings back so much nostalgia for me though.

When you think about it most Blue-ray / DVD-ROMs on modern laptops use the same system - laser and pretty much the whole assembly slides in and out.
