Bengaluru COVID crisis: Testing rates dip amid steep rise in cases

Amid a staggering rise in COVID-19 cases, Bengaluru has seen a nearly 24% drop in testing in a month between April and May. BBMP Commissioner Gaurav Gupta speaking to Mirror Now said that fewer people are getting tested due to lockdown. The city has reported 8,344 fresh cases out of the 31,531 new COVID cases reported in the state of Karnataka and of the 403 deaths reported in the state, 143 were from the city of Bengaluru.
