He was embarrassed and nervous, and he wasn’t going for her backside as you say. He patted her hip area and there was nothing meant by it from what I see. He was just nervous. It was a gesture of thanks only. Period. Nothing negative was intended... He was trying to gain his composure as he backed away from the awkward situation!

OMG he DID NOT pat her ass, it was her hip and she was NOT pissed about it! On the first pat the expression on her face didn't change! He was moving behind her during the 2nd pat and he was making wide strides so he didn't step on her dress. There's a bunch of reasons why she may have looked back and down; his strides made her think he might fall again; that he didn't step on her dress; or just human nature to keep looking at him to make sure he was okay & steady on his feet. She didn't look down at her ass, she was looking him!
