Grocery shopping in Germany be like

Grocery shopping in Germany is definitely something else. I’m getting more used to it now, but still manage to get stressed at the cashier. Today was a perfect example of brain freeze when I was going to pay “wait a minute, what’s my pin code again?”. Hadn’t there been a line behind me, I don’t think this would happen in the first place😭😂 Where I’m from (Norway), we first pay and then pack our groceries in our own speed haha.

Today we’re going to my favourite grocery shop, Lidl. It was my favourite back when I was a kid too, but unfortunately they closed all the lidl shops years ago in Norway. So, don’t forget to grab your bags, if not you will end up with a hundred bags in the end (or a lot of paper bags which you will throw away). Sit down and relax, and let me do the stressing.
I love how much variety there is in grocery stores in general in Germany, compared to Norway. What I like about lidl is that they often have discounts, and you get pretty good deals there in the long run. I especially like the fruit selection, and the bakery items they offer!

I remember the first time in line at a German supermarket. No “small talk”, no one is smiling, just German efficiency. Now I’ve been Germanized to the point that I’m rolling my eyes at the slow person in front of me. Also I’ve really come to appreciate Paprika😅

Why it is more stressfull in Germany? We are efficient, yes. In France, even Lidl and Aldi, takes more time, because no one is prepared :) In Norway and Swueden was in Aldi and Lidl, same system...
But, intristing is, meat in Sueden and I think Norway also, is not so variated, as in Germany. In France you have even also more meat, and for sure, wine. But all Conserves and pre prepared food are not so variated. What Do you think is the different between Nor and Ger?
