“Light the Lamp of Thy Love”: Sankirtan Led by SRF Monks

A selection from the recording “I Will Sing Thy Name,” featuring devotional chanting led by monks of Self-Realization Fellowship at the SRF World Convocation. Several thousand voices join the SRF monastics, who play traditional Indian kirtan instruments to accompany the singing.

Self-Realization Fellowship was founded by Paramahansa Yogananda in 1920 to disseminate Kriya Yoga. Each year devotees from around the world gather in Los Angeles for the weeklong SRF World Convocation. In addition to classes on the SRF teachings given by monastics, periods of meditation and chanting led by monks and nuns are integral to this experience of spiritual renewal.
