Thanks for finally releasing this on Blu ray.

Couldn't agree more.
Enterprise is a magnificent show, arguably the most compelling Star Trek spin-off! And the first season is absolutely stunning, for having successfully transposed the spirit of "The Right Stuff" in the future.
Can't wait this Blu-Ray release...

Well now we got J.J. Abrams that has revived it with Star Trek (2009) and the upcoming Star Trek into Darkness which I'm really looking forward to seeing. Hopefully eventually a new TV series whatever direction they take it, in the alternate reality or the prime timeline in the ENT, TOS or TNG era or beyond. Of course I can't wait this Blu-ray release and the third season of TNG. I'm definitely going to see Star Trek: TNG's "The Best of Both Worlds" in theaters.

wonder what the hardware requirements for a blueray dvdrom player are?

I don't know I still love Star Trek: The Next Generation the best and TOS right behind it since they were the first. Overall they're all great in their own aspects especially Star Trek: Enterprise. ;) I don't really understand it either. Why can't people simply enjoy Star Trek what it is and with all its ups and downs and what all it has inspired, all the hope and dreams it has offered us.

is it just me or did they re-render the animations and special FX?

Indeed, Voyager was TNG 2.0 kinda, and from the start. But it was deliberately, because the TOS/TNG exploration formula is at heart of Star Trek paradigm, far more than the genre.
"Reset button" is also a ST signature since very TOS, and thematically richer than current soap/serial shows.
Finally, except of course for nitpickers, continuity errors are exceptionally uncommon in ST universe, and that's its main asset.

Yes indeed, fans did ask for more Star Trek on Blu-Ray. We just weren't asking for this...

This is my take on the newer series > The Next Generation - The best crew. Deep Space Nine - Overall the best as it had an evolving storyline (Founders/Jem H'dar). Voyager - Had some of the best single episodes of all 3 series, with the likes off episodes such as Scorpion, Year of hell, Equinox etc... Enterprise season 1 - 3 was meh, but Season 4, when the finally starting to tie history with TOS, was an excellent season. If they started with this, Enterprise would have reached 7 seasons..

OK, arithmetically, Doctor Who beats Star Trek. But it’s the only case! And I was talking about a "challenging SF". The classical Doctor Who 26 seasons are far from "challenging" for the major part : a lot of padding for a little content, following the example of Jon Pertwee & Peter Davison periods.

I love how you throw me that title without knowing a damn thing about me.

I've always supported the franchise but not in the way it was always handled. Berman could never try new things and for that the series stagnated. I absolutely loved season 3 and 4 of Enterprise because it showed that they were finally willing to do something new beyond the whole magic reset button. They are gave us great story arcs and gave us some of the best Trek since DS9.

Also, I supported Enterprise to the end.

In Enterprise, toward the 2nd half of season 3, there is a huge space battle that the ship just gets gang raped & ripped apart - & since they're on a far away mission, the damage stays with it through the rest of the season (and is a plot point in a couple eps).
But Enterprise season 4 was a WHOLE NEW BALLGAME! The show improved 100 fold! (Kinda like TNG's 3rd season on). Season 4 was what it should've been like from the beginning. It was really good. (Tho the Borg episode pissed me off)

I actually like TNG more than any other trek, and am liking it more now as an adult. I think I enjoy Voyager more than others because of the better effects and some of their story-arcs than the show itself, it was too full of technobabble sometimes and not as good humor. I haven't rewatched DS9 in a LONG time, and while I like it, I don't like it for the same reasons I liked star trek in general, but it is probably my third favorite. Enterprise... didn't get pass season 2.

Oh get over yourself. I'm with Y Rad. I bet you hate what J.J. Abrams is doing the franchise now with Star Trek (2009) and the upcoming Star Trek into Darkness. Lol. Myself I have appreciated and enjoyed every version of Star Trek, everything from Gene Roddenberry to Rick Berman and to J.J. Abrams. From the original to the Next Generation, DS9, Voyager and Enterprise and up to the latest films. I rather have more Trek that is fresh and new, to keep it a live and going than have none at all.

On the contrary I love the JJ version of Trek. And I don't hate all of Enterprise. Loved seasons 3 to 4. Which funnily enough is when Berman and Bragga gave more creative freedom to the writers. Berman's problem was that after TNG he couldn't really do anything but write TNG in another fashion. I.e. Voyager. Ironic considering how you claim to love stuff that is fresh and new when that show was just more of the same with inconsistent writing, with the exception of Doc and Seven's characters.

"More Star Trek on Blu-ray." Then give us Deep Space Nine!

The Show had its ups and downs, it started going somewhere after its 2nd season, shame it was canceled, the only think that really irked me was the Intro song, it terrible, could they not have gone with a monologue/ orchestrated intro like the other Treks?

No it's not. The ratings were just bad. They started to pick up in season 4 when they finally embraced the fact is was a Star Trek series and that the needed to do tie-ins with TOS. But this was just too late.

I was going to say that too. However, it says "fans asked for it, more star trek on blu-ray." Kind of sayins "fans asked for more star trek." Hypocracy.

Im one of the few who "like" EVERY ST tv series so far. But, I have to admit, TNG was a little stiff & too clean at times and relied too often on technobabble.
And Voyager, even tho I liked it, just VOMITED TECHNOBABBLE NON-STOP!!!
Those 2 shows COULD'VE had a MUCH bigger audience & been more mainstream if not for the unnecessary technobabble crap.
And Roddenberry's TNG internal "no conflict" decree due to the "advanced" humans: he forgot about all those far-from-perfect Navigators on TOS
