Cool setup (pun intended)! I have a BX for doing chores and plowing snow, but I mow with a John Deere 1445 that has a full cab with heat and A/C. It definitely makes a big difference in comfort level when it's hot and humid outside. People give me crap about being spoiled, but it's hard to hear the haters over the radio in the cab :)

Rofl. I literally just came in from mowing on my BX, and swearing my next tractor would have a cab with AC

Great video and comparison, Neil, thank you! When I was pricing out options before I made my purchase, I did not factor AC into the Curtis cab costs. Still, on balance, the B2650 was close enough with the implements I wanted, I went with it, despite the the B2650 being way, way larger than what I really needed for my purposes. But that OEM cab and the potential resale value makes it worth every penny for me. Please keep up the amazing work and stay safe.

Love your honesty Neil. I know you are a dealer and would love to sell a $30K+ sub-compact tractor fully loaded to someone, but I like how you brought in the B-Series to show you can get the same thing in the larger tractor for about the same cost. I'm getting the BX2680 here soon, dealer is out till about the middle to end of August due to the high demand for these machines, Kubota is having a hard time keeping up with the demand, I just hope that don't mean they're going to start cutting corners in quality to speed up the manufacturing process....anyhow, can't wait to get my BX. Maybe at some point it will get mowing duties, but I'm going to be getting the LA344s loader, 50" tiller, and the 54" box scraper...for the light duty stuff I'm going to be doing, this tractor will do everything I need and more that I have yet to think of I'm sure....kind of one of those things that until you have the tractor and implements you don't know all the potential uses it has.

I watched a guy this morning installing metal T-Posts with his Kubota L-series tractor and loader....he was using the loader to push the posts into the ground...I'm not so sure that's a good idea but I guess it was working for him. I know they actually make a hydraulic post pounder...ordered a couple by accident when I was in the National Guard....one of our suppliers had a online ordering system and it was very vague...just said picket pounder, ok well I need 4 of those for driving pickets while out at the range, so I ordered them, turned out they were hydraulically operated, not the old school manual ones oops LOL.

I’m in the hvac biz. I’ve looked at adopting a low profile Rv ac for just such an application. They can be had for about 650 online. But then you have to add another alternator and fab up a roof adaptor for it. Even that way is not cheap. But... I could have cold air blowing down on me even in my open station tractor if I was to be so inclined. Be nice for this Texas weather. Lol

Well Done Neil... I've got a B2650 ROPS and a Husqvarna GTS27V52LS for mowing around the homestead! The Kubota is for that back acreage with a brush-hog and the bucked is seldomly used but when you do it is really appreciated! Thanks (may trade out of the Husqvarna one day for a BC2380 with just a center mower)

Looks like a good option for some, especially adding it onto a used unit. I believe I would look into fabricating a hail and tree branch guard for the condenser coil.

Love this cab on my 2680. I personally don't have a need because I'm on and off my tractor so often in the summer. I just pop the doors off and open the front window. The roof shading my seat is a huge help though. I would also like to add that the heater gets my cab up to 65 deg F when its 20 deg out. I do put a milk house heater in the cab and have a block heater that are both plugged into a wifi outlet. I can set a timer to have them come on or use the ap to start the heaters on the way home from work in a blizzard. I just run the heater cord through the brake pedal. Its nice to have it pre heated and ready to go. Also I use Honeywell bluetooth ear muffs with boom mic. I can easily talk on the phone while blowing snow. I will be posting a video of this soon.

So the question is... Would you only recommend this installation on a 26HP BX and not the 23HP? Thanks for a great video as always.

There has been many cold morning that I wish our Zamboni had a cab and heat. Great video as always.

Different, but at that price point I would take the B2650. Thanks Neil

I've got to take an issue with you about "cheap" cabs. I have an Original Track Cab that I put on for snow blowing in Maine. It's a whole lot better than no cab at all and in the spring I can take it off in about an hour and not have to worry about tearing up a cab while working in the woods.

Neil, great video but you did not address what I think is the elephant in the room - the stability of the BX. I have a 2017 BX23S with the Curtis/Kubota cab. In the winter as a snow blower it is just great. But in the summer, with the doors off, on my slightly hilly 8 acres it is very "tippy". I have Rim Guard in the real tires but I have still had either the left or the right side feel as if I had two tires off the ground on multiple occasions. I think the cab weight increases this "tippiness" I can't imagine what it would feel like with 100+ pounds of air conditioner up on the roof. Does Messick's recommend rear wheel weights and or spacers on the rear of the BX to increase its stability on non flat ground? My tractor does a lot of things right but I also think it has attempted to kill me on occasion. I am looking for advice on how to increase its stability. I looked on Messick's web site for wheel weights for the BX but it looks like you do not stock them?

I’d love to have an AC on my B2650 right now!
