If you use a longer bar piece and chain, you can wrap the chain around it, so the hookshot looks like it's unwinding as it flies!

I wish lego made a chain pieced where the chain comes out of the top of the studs, it'd be so useful

This is really close to my design. Even before the set was released I made a hookshot, and I used a chain and twirled it around itself.

I believe that "flower piece" is suppose to be an internal spool feed that is housed inside the hooks hot, which is why it's sandwiched between 2 blue pieces, leaving the "hook" at the end of the extending chain. So to be more authentic, I think the clear bar and chain should be between the pyramid piece and the forward blue stud, then either leave the flower piece or replace it with a plain grey stud to represent the unspooled chain reel.

The only thing I would change is use a hollow blue stud because it looks like the chain is a little strained there.

Other than that, it’s beautifully simple.
