Before everyone jumps to correct me, I misspoke about the Tone Capsule around 10:03. It’s 2.8kHz, not 3.2kHz.

An SVT-in-a-pedal shootout could be a good idea for a video. The VT Bass, Origin Bassrig Super Vintage, Ampeg SGT-DI, Master Effects Super 300, Catalinbread SFT, Sushibox SBVT, Broughton SV-Pre and maybe some others.

I've tried every Darkglass preamp, and pretty much every preamp on the market, the most recent being the Jad Freer Capo... The VT Bass just replaced that and went back on to my board for the 8th time. It just works!

I still have the very first VT bass pedal on my board since day one (the one without the cab sim on/off button). It's just perfect man. the EQ knobs range is so powerful, I set it just at the edge of breakup, and all my pedals going through it are magnified. I wouldn't gig or record without it, it is so important to me

I’m glad that you made the comment: “I don’t care for the real sound of an Old Ampeg, broken up Sound, because I’m not from that Era & only know what comes out of Pedal”….i guess you’ve never heard the sound of a real Badass Old SVT rig!!
There’s nothing like it, ever!! This is a great unit though…🔊🔊🔊

It's a great pedal for sure, very iconic. I could absolutely kick myself for selling my VT Bass Deluxe back in the day. I wish they would remake it again, the 6 presets was SUPER useful in that pedal format.

Amazing brand, when it comes to bass tone tech 21 is the way to go for me !

This was a GREAT demo…you not only played the perfect riffs for all that classic hardrock stuff that put Ampeg (and Marshall) on the map, but dialed in the tone perfectly. Just BARELY enough drive to “crisp” up the attack, but not so much it turns the bass into a nasally-boxy, 9-string strat (which seems to be a them these days). Nice job with this. I’m thinking of picking on up.

I love the sound of the cranked SVT. Kenichi Suzuki from Ningen Isu uses that sound most of the time and it's killer!

I love my Tech 21 Sansamp VT Bas Di.
I often stack it with my
Sansamp Para Driver or Geddy Lee MP 40 ( now rebranded as the YYZ Shapeshter )
endless versatile killer tones for days 😊
Chris it would be fun to do a video stacking some of these Samsamp pedals with each other, hence this is pretty much what the XB Driver is.
Anyway it's just a thought 😀

Great video! I've owned the VT Bass Deluxe for years, just got the BDDI on a whim and realized that the VT Bass is where my heart lies.

It’s still a solid sounding piece. Also a great find used tbh

The 500 is my main gigging amp, along with a 1x10 barefaced cabinet. Small and powerful!

I had one years ago and stupidly sold it. Going back to get another one. 14:12 sickest riff and great tone.

I didn't even realize sansamp made and actual amp lol

(Subscribed) VT Bass deluxe is my "desert island" pedal. No blend knob but two inputs with switching *or* using one input with six settings is the definition of versatility. Current settings: thick reggae EQ, a scooped Geddy and the grinding SVT stack tones -- more or less volume depending on the switch to use passive and active PUs. A channel for mute is another option. Now, I have to replay this video and do screen caps of all of the settings. Then to program them into the VT pedal and play through my DG Microtubes 900 rig. It's gonna be a good day!

Yes! Have the RM, the VT500, and version 1 and 2 of the original pedal. Use to own the deluxe with the three preset pedals. Can’t live without them!!!!

I ll swear by tech 21 forever they're amazing I rock a ampeg stack just for the power and my tone is a yyz shape shifter with a Keely compressor hooked to it and it's amazing, tones for days .

I've got the para and it made a huge difference in my tone. I keep wanting to get the VT to compare but the para does so much already!
