Jag is definitely brighter sounding. The finish is really beautiful. The fretboard is bound with big inlays. More vintage look. Has my vote.

I was dead set on getting a Jazzmaster but ended up getting a Reverend Airsonic. But I think a JM will be my next guitar.

Jazzmaster is my new 'flame'. Love the tones it delivers. Magical pickups. Beware the various 'clones' which try to pass off P90s as JM p'ups. If budgeting stick to Squier. I've never met a Fender or Squier that disappointed.

That purple is to die for and n/a in Canada only in USA and the UK. Priced used ones but the shipping and handling have become prohibitive.

I liked them both. The jazzmaster had a more rounded sound but I think I might need both to scratch the itch. Jazzmaster first though I think.

I'm really fiending for a Jazzmaster. They seem to produce an ethereal, mystical sound with the right effects.
The Jag looks amazing, but every demo I watch, they seem just a bit "thinner" sounding than the Jazz, which may be what some prefer. Either way, Ive heard that both guitars can be finicky when it comes to the bridge, intonation, etc.

I’ve never owned or played either, I have strats, tele LP, great explanation and demo, sound wise they both sound good, but you don’t know which guitar is right for you until you sit down and play and feel it, but Id probably go with the Jazzmaster because of scale length and versatility, but hey you never know when a guitar will speak to you, I like to hear actual songs / phrases on sound demos , not shreds or blues / scales leads, etc.. so thanks again good demo 👍
