Demelza looks so beautiful in that scene with the cornflowers around her

I love the way Demelza's eyebrow goes up a little as she's looking at Ross. She is beautiful in this scene. And as we all know, Elizabeth will always be in the background and not just in this scene.
Eleanor's transformation as Demelza is incredible. What a lovely and talented actress.
Shirtless does work but just keep in mind...it works for Demelza.

I just started Poldark a couple of days ago, and I'm now on season 2. I felt deprived for 5 years. There's more to "Kili" and his legacy lives on in Ross :)

A dear friend shared the following with me fairly recently. When this shirtless scene came on, there was a collective groan in the room (her family watched the series together) - something like “oh no, not another naked man, enough already” type of disappointment. Then her very wise grandmother asked where Demelza was. You see, she was a woman of wisdom who knew that with the morning after, it is the woman who exudes the glow of the morning after - grandmother may not know about film creation but was wise about woman pleasure.

I personally was disappointed for the cinematographer who took the very gorgeous shot of Demelza, which beautifully reflected on the screen. Even Garrick looked so calm and as if he had a good bath. The beauty of the shot was lost on a shirtless man which is a scene already overused in too many films. Pity.

That scene and the one where Ross is coming out of the sea half naked, gave a sensuality at the series. The rudeness of that time, the unspoken truth, is softened by showing bodyparts. The sex is mostly covered by blankets, sheets or clothes.
Of course this is hot.
Although, how would George his body look like ?

Stop the debate and comments, lets put the cards on the table, Aidan looks perfect and every straight woman will think this scene delicious. Thank goodness for the rewind button. Miss the coke adverts, glad i was around when they were shown. Aidan would have looked good here opening a fizzy can ❤😊😊😊😊😊

no wonder Demelza stared!!! Nobody stops & thinks, wow, he's got to be stinking, but HOT. LOL I just wanted Elizabeth to take out her hanky. haha

So he first sleeps with Demelza the night before this scene. Then after he is flirting with his posh potential girlfrien right in front of Demelza because she is just a maid. He can scyth all he wants like this but I still hate his caracter at this point in the movie. Fortunately he chooses Demelza later on - dispite his family that wants him to marry up not down to keep safe the families position. So it was love not just because she was available. But here he is scything so fiercly (not how one should scyth at all apparently) because he hasnt given up on the idea of marrying the nobel lady and is fighting with himself if he should marry the maid and live poor.
