Its natural beauty , places of interest and in particular the unique scenic location, and were the inspiration for philhellene poet Lord Byron once there spent most of his time writing .

The Mouikis Village Hotel is ideally situated in the village of Lakithra offering guests the very high quality facilities and services beyond the magnificent location . It offers views of ( the Ionian Sea and the mountain Enos and to the island of Vardiani , the islet of Zeus with the church of Panagia Diotissa , and the island of Zakynthos across.

The " amphitheater " position Lakithra with the other villages of Livathos area make it the ideal holiday destination and a great base for unforgettable excursions. Also interesting are the Mycenaean tombs of Lakithra and the Rock of Byron , where Lord Byron was inspired his poems during his stay on the island in 1823 .

We verbleven hier twee weken in augustus met twee ouders en twee kinderen (10 en 13).
Bij ons was iedere ochtend ontbijt inbegrepen, keuze tussen fruit, continental en Engels. Alle drie prima keuzes. We zijn ook weleens gebleven voor middageten en voor diner. Steeds heerlijk gegeten!
Onze kamer had twee verdiepingen en airco. Daardoor lekker fris op de kamer al bleef het boven wel warmer. Onze kamer en het zwembadgebied hadden uitzicht over het vliegveld. Voor onze zoon was dat een onvergetelijke ervaring. Voor anderen belangrijk: je hoort af en toe wat gerommel van vliegtuigen maar dat is beslist geen overlast.
Het hotel heeft een prima zwembad waar we heerlijk gezwommen hebben. Wel gaat het vroeg dicht: voor 19u.
Wij gebruikten dit hotel als uitvalbasis voor onze dagtrips rond het eiland met de auto. Het is fijn centraal gelegen, als je tenminste een bergweggetje op z'n tijd kunt hebben.
Enige nadeel was dat het zwembad drie keer al om 16u dicht ging vanwege een bruiloft. We zijn prima gecompenseerd met gratis late uitcheck en 50% korting aan de bar gedurende één van de avonden.
Grootste pluspunt van dit hotel is de staf. Schoonmaaksters, ontbijt- en bar/restaurantpersoneel en receptionist Dimitrios hebben werkelijk alles uit de kast gehaald wat binnen hun mogelijkheden lag om het ons naar de zin te maken.

Abbiamo alloggiato presso il villaggio, che si trova esattamente sopra l'aeroporto in un contesto panoramico invidiabile. La piscina è semplicemente fantastica, proprio come si vede nelle foto. Sembra sia a picco sul mare! La colazione e gli e eventuali ulteriori pasti si consumano intorno ad essa, il che offre, uno stupendo panorama. Il servizio è buono, la colazione (avevamo prenotato bed & breackfast) buona ed abbondante ed il personale è veramente pronto e gentile. Quasi tutte le camere sono fronte mare, a parte qualcuna nella parte più anziana del villaggio (ma anche la più caratteristica) che dà sulla strada principale, che comunque non dà assolutamente fastidio. Causa allagamento della camera dovuto ad un grosso temporale che ci ha costretto a cambiare alloggio, abbiamo testato sia la parte vecchia, che la parte nuova e sono entrambe ottime. Le sistemazioni più vecchie hanno il soppalco, le altre no. Sono tutte dotate di angolo cottura con forno a microonde, tostapane e griglia, così se uno vuole può cucinare tranquillamente. Ci sono comunque diversi locali nelle vicinanze dove si può mangiare con poco più di 10 euro a testa. La posizione è anche molto comoda in quanto da lì si possono raggiungere facilmente tutte le località dell'isola, che è abbastanza grande e quindi è opportuno noleggiare un'auto. Internet wi-fi nella hall del villaggio è sempre disponibile e gratuito, così uno può connettersi quando vuole. Lo standard di pulizia è ottimo e il personale, come ho già detto è veramente molto disponibile. L'ideale è per famiglie in quanto non ci sono grandi intrattenimenti, del resto è l'intera isola che è impostata per un turismo tranquillo, chi cerca villaggi con animazione e movida notturna, forse è meglio vada altrove. Ci sono diverse spiagge vicine, ma il bello di Cefalonia è girarla per scoprire tutte le meraviglie che può offrire. Torneremo sicuramente in questa struttura in quanto siamo rimasti entusiasti.
