Foobar2000 Sort by ALBUM ARTIST

Doesnt work, on the left side panel there is nothing show under "All Music". Do i have to change the layout too?

I was using a similar solution eg.%<album artist>%|%date% - ][%track artist% - ]%title% Unfortunately my solution wouldn't do albums where the songs had different dates. Your solution worked perfectly, and now I don't have to change all my years in a compilation album. Thanks

If anyone still has trouble, just use "Facets" component and replace the Album list UI element(the one above the album art) with facet. now you create 2 columns, one for artist, second album.

You can let it ignore "The" (under Preferences>Facets>) and paste " %discnumber% %tracknumber% " (w/o quotations) in 'Default sort order' . Just hope someone might find this useful. thank you for the video still brother

Excellent walkthrough! Dropbox link is dead but just copy the default contents of "artist" and replace first entry with "album artist"

In the video you said you wanted to add syntax to the description, but instead you included a link to Dropbox, the contents of which you deleted. Luckily you showed me the syntax in the video so I could reproduce it. Still, thumbs down for this behavior.
