Bioshock Music | Ambience

This is a Bioshock Ambience experience that I created with Songs, Sounds, Announcements, and Big Daddy SFX mixed from the game.

I wanted to give the experience that you are actually there, with different announcements coming from different rooms, and big daddy sounds lingering every once in a while.

Ironic how bioshocks eerieness and creepy, cold atmosphere makes me feel so cozy and warm ... especially the 1930s background music ... god I love bioshock

I was late to bioshock. My first go was literally 2019. I remembered seeing Bioshock Infinite commercials but had no intentions then to try them. I randomly found the Bioshock Collection for sale and asked the wife to buy it for me for Christmas. Mind you, still had no clue what this game series was all about because I dont watch spoiler videos unless I already know all the spoilers. So my first play through when sinking into Rapture I was stoked thinking, "Wow!!! An underwater utopia game....I wonder what kind of game this will be?" Then seeing that first spider splicer go to town, I was like, "what is going on?! What kind of game is this?!" Then later I heard the song from Shawshank Redemption. Still ai was like, "what is going on?" This game is by far one of my favorites.

I’m glad to see everyone is still here enjoying this video! I made this mix because I loved the Bioshock games so much. Especially the first. I always wanted to be able to come back and “visit” Rapture wherever I was and that is how this video creation came to be. I spent hours creating this and it was one of the most fun times Ive ever had! From one fan to another, I hope you ALL continue to enjoy!

This feeling is so weird, missing a timeline you never experienced. This game was everything, great graphics, plots were very detailed, always intriguing and everything about its awesome. Can't wait for Bioshock #4

The ambience of Bioshock is unbeaten.


The sound of water pulsing against the hull - you're alone and far below the surface,
the hull creaking and quaking in an unnerving echo - the disrepair and disorder of a city long past its due,

the old timey music that invokes an odd sense of nostalgia for what Rapture may have been before all this,
the distant sounds of scrapes and thuds showing you're never truly alone,

and all this combined with the visual atmosphere: an abandoned, post-collapse society where all you can do is wallow in its misery between bouts of chaos, and the terrible fate that befell it.

I listened to this on repeat while I was under Covid Quarantine.

Photosensitive to light so my room was pitch black.. Every single joint articulation hurt like hell, breathing was weak unless I focused on it.

Eventually used that focused breathing to put myself in a sub conscious state with this in the background. Felt like I was walking the streets of Rapture. Not the nightmare you go through in the first game. It was more the ambience you experience in the Infinite expansion Burial at Sea. Spent most of my time at the Tea Garden and farmers market in Arcadia, then headed to the fighting mcdonagh for a drink & smoke afterwards and debate politics with the bartender.

I really gotta thank you for not including the game score by Gary Shyman. I think that would've filled my world with ADAM thirsty splicers. It got me through the worst time in my life, many thanks for that.

I get chills with the announcements and the background noise. I've always loved the specific aesthetic this game has that's not "just" old music. While I love oldies and these artists are on constant repeat on my music player, this specific combination of sounds and visuals give it a whole new layer of feelings and memories to me.

54:12 I’ve always viewed the music of Bioshock in the same sort of creepy factor as The Shining, where you know what happens throughout the story and suspect there to be music just as disturbing but get calm, and quieter music making you feel as if something’s quite not right. Great job with recreating Raptures atmosphere though!
