Found one of these out by the trash bin at work tonight. I work as a security guard for an apt complex that houses mostly fairly wealthy older people and the things they throw away are absolutely MIND BLOWING. In the 3 weeks I’ve worked here I’ve found a Blueair 411, an armoir, and a mountain bike frame that was practically brand new and only missing one tire. I even helped an older gentleman (prolly around 80 yo) load up his Uhaul and when he was done he said “whelp, it’s full. Feel free to take whatever’s left inside.”the guy left 2 40” flatscreens, an UNOPENED Xbox one X I found in the back of a storage closet, an industrial strength washer that’s prolly worth around $2700, and I think around $3000 worth of tools. Needless to say I snagged the Xbox, one of the tvs, and a few of the tools. In about a month I’ll prolly have enough stuff to throw a yard sale or smth 😂

I like mine. Works well. I cannot open my bedroom windows so my room stank of my stale sweat, nocturnal farts and was dusty. I put it on for a few hours before bed and WOW! nice clean chilled, oudorless, fresh bedroom to sleep in. I LOVE IT

A tip for you. I place a cotton ball with a few drops lavender oil inside on the bottom of the filter. Gives the room a nice scent

QUESTION: I’ve had my Blueair 311 Auto for a week now and I keep it on Auto mode 24/7. The LED has never changed from blue, even when changing my bedding, running fans, burning a candle nearby, etc. The air flow from the top of the unit is constant as it should be. Is it working correctly? Just weird that it’s always indicating my air is good.

Well edited video. That said, :
1) I have 4 air purifiers in my home (Austin Air, IQAir, Aeris and Winix) and I run them 247. Having a sensor on the air purifier is NOT a good thing IMO - as that mode will provide fewer air exchanges for you in your room. You care about the quality of air going through your nose and mouth - NOT what is occurring at the air purifier location. By the time it realizes it needs to increase fan speed - your body has already ingested more contaminants than if the unit was continuously running on a higher fan speed and providing more air exchanges.
2) If you have musty smells in a room it is because you have relative humidity over 60% and you need a dehumidifier NOT an air purifier... I've sold both type of solutions for over 15 years.
3) People with real-world air purification industry experience do not look to Consumer Reports nor Wire Cutter as air purification testing experts.... nor as legit sources to pick the best purifiers.

When you wash the out sleeve, did you wash it on warm or cold water?

BlueAir's marketing is misleading. Their patented HEPASilent technology (5:09) is in their high-end models and involves high-voltage electrodes at the air inlet side. The affordable Pure product line uses non-HEPA-grade filters and you won't find any documentation on their website about the performance of these filters.
That said, non-HEPA filters are better than true HEPA for this application, since it moves more volume of air for the same amount of electricity and noise. With HEPA, the 99.97%-filtered output will be mixed with dirty air right at the purifier outlet, so the end result is actually worse than with an 85%-filtered output at a higher volume rate.

I got two 411s, and they are quiet at low and medium, but I doubt it's moving any air outside a 2 feet radius. On high it's like a jet engine. I returned it and got the 311 instead. These small fans get loud in order to move air. If you want a quiet unit that moves lots of air, you need a unit with a bigger fan. My 211 is very quiet at medium or even high and it moves so much more air.

Great video, went into more detail and put emphasis on 3rd party sources. Only thing is that I'm a bit worried about the electrostatic part - that necessarily creates ozone (which is poisonous) as a byproduct, and is often complained about on other Blueair products. The one thing I wanted to know here is, what level is this one creating, because on the website it claims 0.05ppb (which is insanely low), and none of the reviews I've found have smelled the ozone with the Auto, unlike the regular 411 model, so I'm curious if it even has an electrostatic component at all?
