Poor ed, he has single handedly defeated the kankers a few times before, but only in special circumstances, like when he was a space outlaw or under reverse psychology. But he's just not a fighter. Like, ed has the strength of the incredible hulk, but with the personality of the jolly green giant.

I love how that little exchange shows that both sides care about who they are defending. As much as he mocks him, Double D is Eddy's friend and he WILL fight tooth and nail for him. Same with Lee and Marie when it comes to May. They bully her, but they'll also protect her with their lives if they have to.

Also, How does Eddy know Marie's into mechanics? It's a shame the Kankers' personalities that DON'T revolve around the Eds were never explored, side the Ship-in-a-bottle episode.

I love seeing Kevin enjoy Rolf’s weirdness. It proves what great friends they are.

This was not just the best valentines day special for any cartoon, but it was also the best Kanker episode (The other one being where Ed accidentally stole their ship-in-a-bottle) since they're not written all ex-machina style.

We actually get to explore what Marie is like when faced with a conflict other than her sisters. And not to mention the Kankers aren't bullying anyone for once, making them more three dimentional in this episode than in any other in the series.

I also like how the Eds can act normal despite being in the same room as the Kankers.
