Fucking huge shoutout to Dave for saying "Moctezuma" instead of "Montezuma". As a Mexican, it feels nice to see that someone finally gets it right :)

I love this band!! I love just Gillian and David alone on tour (both top notch musicians) but then add the others - esp JPJ (who is so humble and understated in his presence - but not musically - lol) then Willie Watson from Old Crow Medicine Show and I can watch David play that guitar all day long! His recent more vocals have sure been a plus as well - though Gillian is a force vocally always.... Gillian sounds like no one else. she is like comfort food for the soul.

Craziest thing about HSBG fest is you never know who is going to show up. I never thought I'd get to see Robert Plant until he got up onstage with Buddy Miller a few years before this. And here we have John Paul Jones another year. Craziness.

So nice to see John Paul Jones back being what he was: a session player!

We saw them two nights before this at Gundlau-Bundschu in Sonoma, and the "Going to California" was phenomenal.  Best group ever.

Thanks so much for posting this.... Saw them in Santa Cruz the Wed before, and it was one of the best shows I've ever seen.... Drove up for this too, but missed the first couple songs of the set trying to make our way into the packed park

I was there and didn’t realize they had JPJ on mando until the end of the encore when Dave yelled “John Paul Jones!” My jaw dropped.

"I've always wanted to shout 'JOHN PAUL JONES!', but now I get to do it without looking like an insane person!"

Anyone else notice the Jon Langford backdrop? His paintings are awesome.

Shame the mando doesn't come through in the mix.

I love hearing Dave sing lead but miss the complexity of the fingerpicking he does with Gillian's projects. Shame he can't clone himself. (No one does it like him)

Video missing Going To California (Led Zeppelin) ?, which I believe was performed as an encore at the end, according to reports elsewhere such as on the setlist.fm website.

Ok, new to this band. Checking them out, due to their upcoming co-headlining gigs with The Punch Brothers. I have to say, I'm not sure how that happened, as the gap in talent AND fan base seems immense. They aren't bad or anything, but just...meh. Pretty standard, and run of the mill. Maybe I'm missing something.

Could someone make a suggestion, or point me in the right direction?

If I was willy I would not be able to play with JPJ there. I mean come on. I would be so nervous.
