It's incredible how quickly medical science advances! My Dad has had both knees replaced. One last year and one six years prior to that! The recovery was so much better with last year's, he said it feels way better than the first and hasn't had a single issue with the newest robo knee.

What we never see is the damage to the knee area just to get to the replacement site. That's what causes the pain and long recovery time in some patients.

I was told about 4 years ago I would need total knee replacements for both knees after Ortho PA reviewed x-rays. I have been getting Euflexa injections in both knees since 2013.(2013 I had a torn miniscus repaired). As long as I keep up with those, my knees generally don't bother me.

I went for a second opinion, that doctor actually met with me and examined my knees, asked lots of questions (diagnosed with synovial sarcoma, year before I had surgery, luckily wasn't in limbs). He said I still had good movement range, and keep up with Euflexa as long as it was working for me. He said maybe in a couple years might need a partial knee replacement in both knees. The office I have been going to with the Euflexa injections for years, that doctor has never once met with me, originally doctor I had left practice around 2016. If the 2nd opinion doctor wasn't an hour one way, I would go all the time to him. Will definitely go to him for the surgery.

Can you show a partial knee replacement and recovery time difference? Thanks!

Why can’t they replace the knee with donated knee caps from cadavers?

My mom had both knees replaced at the same time and when she went to rehab the physical therapist there had convinced her on the first visit to stand and walk she did as he said and she ended up destroying both her knees again because of his expertise. Gotta love Miami. the cubans there are a proud and confident culture

How long will the knee work? For how many years?

Is this a common method, looks so less traumatic to the body than complete joint removal. How long has this procedure been used and has it held up well with time? Is there any Dr, that performs this in Washington state? I need both knees done, bone on bone.
