Hi. Just found your video!
I am 42, born with unilateral hearing.
I don't say loss because I never had 2 working ears to begin with.
My right ear is completely deaf.
I grew up struggling in school and with interpersonal relationships, as well as work related issues.
I have a deep fear of losing my kids because I can't tell the direction of sound.
I have been bullied by my former spouse for not listening, even though I am unable to listen, just as a paralyzed person is unable to walk.
--To be clear, I am defining "listen" as the ability to push down one sound, while focusing on another.
It has taken me a long time to become confident in myself, yet I want to learn more about the brain's processes when it deals with unilateral hearing.
I'm hoping to continue my education on this, not just for myself, but also I might someday help someone.
