Wow. I was just having this conversation with someone who said I wasn't an actress. Just because I'm not in play, movie, or tv show does not mean I'm not an actress. I study Uta Hagen and Meisner. I do the text work on plays I read even if I'm not in them. I enjoy doing the WORK of an actress so I believe that makes me an actress. Great interview!

Amen Mr. Cheadle. Most "actors" are just looking to be a celebrity. Actors work CONSTANTLY, anytime and anywhere.

Work on your craft and stop looking for fame.

As an actor you should always consider what happened to the character you play before the script begins and even consider what happens to them after the script ends. Life off the page...

I watched him in Hotel Rwanda. Mad respect to this guy, his acting is beyond amazing. Embody Paul's spirit as the ordinary guy forced to do the extraordinary things.

Don Cheadle brings an unparalleled level of class and professionalism to every interview.

Actors act no matter what is the stage. You go to acting class not just to learn more skills but also to ACT on material and with people. Leonardo DiCaprio won an Oscar and still works with his acting coach. That should still encourage the rest of all level actors to work.

Great advice. It took me so long to realize this. True, working definitely helps your profession and fame is an added plus but it’s really about having passion for what you do. There’s much joy in performing, but even when you’re not you can always continue learning and honing your craft. It’s good to keep seeking opportunities, but even when it’s not possible or you just can’t do it anymore, if you still have a place in your heart for it, you were and always will be an actor.

If you want to see Don Cheadle in a great movie, watch Hotel Rwanda. That film always sticks out to me when I think of Cheadle (apart from the MCU)

That was really insightful. So far, that’s the best thing I’ve heard any actor say about how to do the job.
