Oh okay now i get it. I think. Even if something sinks in water it still has some degree of buoyancy to it. Or another way to look at it is that unlike a feather and rock dropped simultaneously in a vacuum, in air and water different materials will drop/sink faster than others. Thanks and good job, this was the first video that explained and demonstrated enough to give me a feel for what's going on in this method.

Set up is well done and well explained. This is also referred to as "buoyancy method of density determination".

Hello. Thanks for the video. Why do we need to hang the object in the water to measure the object weight in water? What if we measure the object weight in water by letting the object to sink in water? What would be the difference?
