I got the first PRS GEN II scope today. Thankfully Discovery provides only 1 sunshade. This made the packing a bit more compact. They also added an ocular flip-up lens cover, since every reviewer of the first PRS commented about the 'rubber cap'...Glass appears EVEN better than GEN I.
BTW, EXCELLENT packing and 6 days from China to my door. Amazing.

Recently had a look at their offerings and I’ve gotta say for what they claim versus what they charge it’s pretty damn impressive.

Got myself a nifty 1-6 ED FFP rifle scope with a bunch of extras for about 190 USD. That is unheard of. And this 5-25 is next, I reckon.

Hi. I have this scope and have thoroughly enjoyed it. Just yesterday, I ordered a Gen II of this optics directly from Discovery China. Too new to be available here. When Discovery announced the new
5-40X56 model, I ordered one of those from China also. It came quickly and is a step up from the PRS
model. Look a the font style on the turrets and compare them to the Arken EP-5. They look and feel similar.

I got flip ups on myVT-T 6-24×50. Youre gonna want to crank that mag. wheel and crank it back and forth and literally, work it loose. I know that sounds odd for a scope but I did it and it loosened up after a few minutes of doing so.
These are fantastic on my high power PCPs. Im hitting 130 yards and my 6-24×50 is great. At 130yds im using 17-19 power, depending on lighting. I don't see any lens issues until I get to 23, 24× and even then I can see details on trees and rocks at around 250yds with no real issues.
Guys, for the money, they're great a scope.
I don't imagine you guys doing 500yds + are gonna have much good to say about them but I can't swing $800-1200 for something that is still made in China and my PCP game is not quite at that level yet, so until I break 300 yds., im good with spending $165 including tax for a ffp scope with a lifetime warranty.
God knows these PCPs are not a cheap hobby

Also, different lens covers and tight rings are typical on budget scopes. Cost has to be cut somewhere. On a positive note, Discovery has a lifetime warranty. That's a big plus. Not all budget scopes do...

That was a great and detailed video. I am considering this Discovery vs. the Helix. I look to watching more of your fine work. Stay well. Thank you.

Discovery is now offering a 5-40x56 with ED glass.
According to them the 5-25 uses Hoya FCD1 glass, while the 5-40 uses FCD10, i would love to see you review that scope as you are very thorough in you review.

Something to suggest you add to your list of things to go over, even if it will add more effort, would be the accuracy of the subtension measurements on the reticle versus the manufacturer claims. I personally have an Athlon Talos BTR FFP scope I purchased, and I found that some of the measurements deviated quite significantly from what the literature claimed in some, fortunately non-critical, areas, and I've even seen errors in thousand-plus dollar optics from Leupold before. Could make range-estimation more difficult.

Great review, as always. The rear cover probably isn't a flip up because you need to remove it to use the eyepiece focus anyway.

Very nicely explained! Can you comment why the magnification turret is always too tight to move?

It's only $100 cheaper than primary arms, during the holiday sales.
I think the price difference needs to be more than 200 dollars.

Man, the sunshade is not just little crazy, it is insane🤣

Leupold charges you $20 bucks for their lens pen sold separately, and a grand or better for a similar powered scope.

Are you wearing German Flectarn desert camo?

With a bolt gun equipped with a picatinny rail. What height of rings would you you recommend. Also do you think this scope would hold up to a .300 Win Mag recoil¿ Thank you for your time Sir.
