8 Sided Dice continue their approach of giving a voice to fresh, emerging talent by granting a debut to one of the breakthrough artists of 2012, James Mile. Best known for his work with Gregor Tresher's Break New Soil imprint ('Slicked & Sliced') as well as two EP's for Kaluki Music, the label from UK clubbing institution, Sankeys, Mile's distinctively underground style of techno has earned him recognition from his peers that scores way beyond his experience and set the young Italian producer on an impressive career path.

Having supported James Miles previous work for Break New Soil and Kaluki Music, there was no hesitation from Alan Fitzpatrick in signing this two track EP from Mile to 8 Sided Dice. The unrelentingly industrial 'Downtone' with its pumping old-school groove and crunchy percussion sets an underground tone for the release; backed up by 'Crumbles' which works up a stabby heads-down groove embellished by reverberating melodic touches and extrovert pitching effects to create a driving but hypnotic ambience.
