I have 20 years experience tuning 2 stroke engines. The key is to start with the base tune given by the manufacturer. From there you would adjust the idle first as the low side will affect the high side tune. After you get it to idle nicely without stalling, hold it in the air/ take the wheels off, hold wide open throttle and adjust the high side rich until you hear the engine change rpm (starting to bogg). Then adjust back lean just to the point where it picks back up. That's the sweet spot. It's also a good idea to mix your fuel a little rich (oil) as the only down side is a bit of a mess, not enough and you will burn up the engine. Same if you run the engine with too lean fuel settings.

Kevin, take one of the old raminators and add a mower deck on it. Baddest lawnmower on earth.

According to the lack of smoke now its a new engine… it could use some more juice!

Use a piece of heat shrink tubing on the hub pins.🤔😉 Also, engine should be run rich for a full tank of gas before trying to tune.

Hi Kevin #1 Don't use that octane boost untile engine is set up correctly. Also your carb is to lean also
#2 check all carb gaskets for air leaks.#3 I also noticed your exhaust pipe is bouncing around to much you will break your header off if you keep it that way. Install a rear exhaust stinger mount to fix that issue. Happy r/c my friend.

an idea for your tuning, by the way it cuts at higher rpm, it could be worth checking that the fuel tank is able to supply the fuel consistently. perhaps the breather valve / hose isn't allowing the pressure in the tank to be even or a vacuum when the engine requires more fuel it is having too much effort to suck it from the tank? at low rpm or starting the fuel can be drawn slowly but higher demand is causing a vacuum and making it lean and cut out.

I know you won't read this, but, may I suggest watching a couple of videos on how to tune chainsaws. Sounds silly I know, but I think they'll help you understand the tune better. Chickanic has some decent videos as well as Steve's Small Engine Saloon. Good luck.

Next time you spray paint something like that you should try steel-it. It’s actually very durable and I think it would work well for what you’re doing. I agree that the chassis should of come matching

I bought my 1 year old his first rc for $20 and he loves it. I cant wait to work up to a raminator over the next 15 years

Badass!!! You need a foam filled fuel cell to keep the fuel flow constant during negative G’s that pulls fuel away from the fuel line outlet.
