Both houses of Parliament witnessed opposition protests and ruckus over the rise in fuel prices. Members of the opposition parties in both Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha demanded a discussion on the rise in fuel prices which however was not permitted, leading to protests by Congress, NCP, DMK and Left parties. Due to ruckus, the Rajya Sabha was adjourned by the Chairman Venkaiah Naidu. In Lok Sabha, opposition members staged a walkout from the House against the fuel price rise. Watch this video for more.

All those who disrupt parliament proceedings by sloganeering instead of discussion should take a salary cut to make up for the loss due to increase in international prices.

Petrol and diesel does not comes under GST...
Rather it still comes under old tax system, where excise duty, VAT imposed by state government.
The opposition is shouting because they know if the questions are asked to opposing ruling party they have to answer that they are imposing tax.
State ruling government earns more from petrol and diesel as petrol and diesel doesn't comes under GST rather excise duty and VAT are imposed on petrol and diesel by the state government. That's why you see different prices on petrol and diesel in different states or even district level also.

Petrol and Diesel prices have been raised by 80 paisa. They are screaming as if prices have gone up by 80 rupees. As per the current world oil market our petrol prices are okay.

Imagine if Russian oil is banned per barrel rates will go to 200.

I really don't want my overseas friends to see this, India needs to solidify its regulation regarding political discussions. First kick these overgrown lads out of the politics, we need more serious and young politicians. Clearly nobody shows the sign of a leader.

Fuel prices have gone up all around the world today. The people who are shouting are being like actors. Most of the other countries have understood this but why are these people shouting?

It's Modi's fault that Ukraine and Russia are fighting and barrel prices have crossed 115usd

The fuel prices have risen by 90% in some parts of the World. The role of the opposition is to make the Government look public's villain at every opportunity. People of India are fortunate to have Mr. Narendra Modi who has managed to maintain very little price hike in fuel, secured discounted fuel from Russia whilst maintaining close ties with the West. What a legend PM Mr. Modi.

95.5 in Gujarat but almost 111 in Maharashtra. Opposition didn't mention that.

Well, even though crude oil is coming from Russia, I don't see that kind of increase yet in petrol and diesel prices.
80 paise, That's all. But we have had to take a note that central government doesn't increase the prices any further because eventually it will hurt the common man.
While I support this tamasha in both houses of parliament, I don't support this present opposition.

Why is the opposition making a fool of themselves, as usual? Every guy, who is not a fool, knows the prices of oil & gas have increased drastically on the international market. A normal Indian knows it but their leaders are ignorant. With such walk out from the parliament, they are making themselves more irreverent.

These kind of screams and chaos are not going to solve anything. They should ask questions directly to relatable person. They are providing safe escape to ruling party by doing this kinda chaos.Ask questions again and again but with maturity and silence so that the govt have to answer.
