Chanel - SloMo - Spain 🇪🇸 - National Final Performance - Eurovision 2022

Chanel will represent Spain at the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest in Turin with the song SloMo.

Chanel is a singer, dancer, and occasional actress, born in Cuba and raised in Spain since she was four years old.

If SloMo sounds like an instant dance floor filler, there’s good reason: her songwriting team have worked with the likes of Madonna, Black Eyed Peas, Britney Spears, Ricky Martin, Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj.

Serving the competition a double-threat of some top-notch choreography and hairography, few could argue that rising star Chanel didn’t do her utmost to bring her song to life on the Benidorm stage in the first semi-final, and delivered a winning performance at the grand final on Saturday night!

She has superhuman breath control and stamina, seen as she dances so actively and gets tossed around so much. I also love the little hand gestures that are like precisely planned micro-expressions. The music composition also truly represents the country and appropriately exploits the current popularity of upbeat music from Hispanic and Latin-American countries. I hope however that they will use a slightly more stable camera technique to really capture, and put emphasis on, the slow motion part of the choreography and that each detail in the dance routine gets its deserved moment to shine, because the quick cuts and constant shaking were a bit distracting and chaotic. This is my favorite act of this year so far, and I hope they will show the world once again why these kind of songs keep getting all the numbers one spots and are getting all the awards. Spain, you deserve to place high in the ranking this edition of the Eurovision Song Contest 🇪🇦🎵🎶
