Let’s me share with you my pro tips to TAKE GOOD PHOTOS of your art, your work, your urban sketches! #ArtistProTips
Enhance your watercolor paintings by taking photos the right way! I am showing you here how I take photos with my iPhone for Instagram, especially.
I hope this will help you to photography your artwork the best way possible!

🔶 Good ARTWORK PHOTOS Check list :
☐ Shoot with daylight, if possible close to the middle of the day (avoid mornings and evenings).
☐ Shoot in the sunny side of the house.
☐ Put your work, not in the sun, but in the shade just aside a sunny spot.
☐ Position it parallel to the window.
☐ Never stand between the light source and your art.
☐ Hold you camera / phone parallel to your work and use the sketchbook / artwork edges as landmarks.

Excellent advice. There are some really good phone apps too that can help. I frequently use CS CamScanner which is really easy to use and will auto crop to the page edges and correct the parallax at the same time. "Snapseed" is an excellent photo editor for smartphones that has extensive image adjustment, parallax and crop features, and this is what I use if I need higher quality results. Most cameras and smart phones also allow you to select a framing grid, viewfinder overlay and this can really help to square the shot and reduce parallax.

Oh boy I do all those bad angle shots, at night under electric light usually with my sketchbook on my lap... you've given me a LOT to think about to try to improve my photos. Thanks for the tips great video 😄👵🏼🎨

Thanks so much for this video. I usually finish my paintings at night and take the photo late at night and this is a good reminder not to do that.Taking a good photo is so important as to not detract from the art.
