I wouldn't really say Phoveus is much of a counter to Joy honestly. As long as she gets her perfect beats, she'll get more dmg, and once she ults, she'll have magic lifesteal and get back of her hp, while Phoveus will just be ulting trying to kill her.

As a joy main I say Esme, Franco, Kaja, and late game heroes like Karrie, Moskov pretty much mm but can be countered with vengeance

If you had already picked phoveus, the thing you should do on managing her is to immune her dash so that she can't trigger her ult.

Kaja is another hero to counter joy, 😊

Tried to counter her with Jawhead in exp. Works well

His skill 1 can give damage without us needing to aim, also give more damage to his basic attack

Skill 2 can give additional shields to sustain damage. Only throw after Joy uses her ultimate

Nah the Best Counter is Esmeralda.. Literally cant do anything againts her.. im Pretty Good with Joy but damn i got wreck with Esme.. Especially when Esme built tank with Radian and Dominance..Gameover

Joy's only weakness is MM that could dish out enormous amount of dmg in an instant, Franco and Kaja. Any other heroes could only be labeled as "Foothold to get near the enemy backlines", this includes Fredrinn, Yu zhong, and any other fighter/tank, even Khufra couldn't reliably counter her since she could just run around him or disengage. If you can feel the Joy player's rhythm, you could potentially counter them with any other heroes with CC but if you can't, tough luck. The upcoming (potential)nerf is gonna completely gut her tho so there's that.

As someone who plays way too much joy I'm going to say Franco kaja and tanky heroes counter joy when played properly joy avoids ambushes and escapes ganks
