Many singers that step out of the limelight for whatever reason. Some take breaks or change their positions in the world of entertainment/music industry. If they aren't using their voices, their vocals get preserved. And that's only if they haven't had major health issues or succumbed to drugs entirely. Plain old aging can take away those wonderful sounds as well
