$499 - $100 Store Credit - $50 Statement Credit = $349 - $180 Trade-In Pixel 6A = $169. I went for it. I thought about the Pixel 8 when it was $549. The numbers look better with the 8A. I forgot to mention interest free 24 months.

Years ago I owned the Pixel 3a and loved how it performed and how little I got it for at the time. As a promo, I paid $200 new with a $30/month Sprint Kickstarter line at Best Buy. It was such a great bargain at the time but I finally ended up replacing it with my current Pixel 5. I love my Pixel 5 and it is still working great!

This Pixel 8a looks like a worthy replacement for my Pixel 5 as it beats it in almost all metrics except unlimited photo storage in Google Photos. 8GB/128GB is my baseline. I'm not sure how I'm going to move on from my Pixel 5 as I take a lot of photos, but I have to seriously start giving it some thought. My Pixel 5 is no longer receiving security and OS updates and this worries me. The 8a will get 7 years of software updates, I need this!

This 8a has so much going for it considering it is the "budget" Pixel. I loved my Pixel 3a it offered so much value, I wouldn't think twice about switching back to this A series Pixel. I don't want to spend more, $500 is a tough pill to swallow already. The $100 Google Store credit (I still need a screen protector and case for it, maybe A series earbuds) and Google estimates trading in my Pixel 5 for $120 would make this a decent upgrade if true.

A barrier to the a-series for me is the lack of Motion function on the camera and those it overall though. It's so affordable right now. £230 after trading in my Pixel 6, directly with Google. That's insane!

The borders of the Pixel 8a are less qualitative than on previous models in my opinion. it's more entry-level 🥲

On another note, my 6A is perfect but my new 24 Tacoma has wireless charging. This is the only reason I am upgrading, and the final price made it justifiable.
