2. Cultural Humility and Critical Allyship
Показать описание
Connection, Collaboration and Critical Conversations Event
The second part of the day explores two more constructs, cultural humility and critical allyship. Cultural humility is essentially a practice framework for working with diversity, so cultural humility comes out of having a critical consciousness. In this space we heard a conversation between Marcelle Townsend-Cross and Professor Joiji Ravulo. We then broke off into groups (not recorded) and returned to discuss key tensions around the construct of cultural humility.
We then discussed our third construct, critical allyship. Here we had the pleasure of listening to the video by Stephanie Nixon from Queens University, Canada, introducing us to the coin model of privilege and critical allyship, followed by a conversation between Alison Frances-Cracknell from Monash University, Australia and Julia McCartan.
