I am a person who had an incarcerated loved one and a person who is a co. Now i saw that video of brooks and i was shocked just as everyone else was. But we as the the public dont know the whole story yet. No one deserves to be beaten and die. And no one deserves to to be forced to work 16 to 24 hour days either. There are some bad co's but lets be honest, the inmates didnt learn to live within the rules of society when they were free, and many are repeat offenders. Think about all the victims those incarcerated inmates hurt or killed. The usa is probably the only country that coddles our imates for heinous crimes. There is always room for more compassion, but not at the expense of hard working men an women trying to support their families. Maybe if the inmates had been taught respect for others and themselves they might not be incarcerated. So when you point the finger at co's behavior, remember the other fingers are pointing right back at you.

They should not have closed the farm, that was doing well and skills were gained by the people in the trustee program which was incentive to be cooperative and then work outside with the animals.
We were sad when they closed the farm in Attica.

Why is attica still even functioning? Surely there should be a new NYS prison thats not miles and miles away from every other city in NY. Always upsetting to see suburban/ rural people complain about understaffing on the job while most cities in NYS have no jobs and extreme poverty. These people should be greatful they even have a job.

Sense the halt act, only difference is yes their allowed certain property after 15 days. They stay in the same cell the name changes from SHU to RRU. You guys purposely loose their property so they dont get it anyways. They can grieve it but really that dose no good. Their is no inmate /staff violence that's a death wish. Their is definitely inmate/inmate violence daily, but they know when you guys say stop they better stop or else. Yes sometimes they don't then staff has to intervene. Yes you guys are big time under staffed and it's wrong more body's are needed. When it's time to go home guys are being told nope ur staying and yes that's wrong. And yes your right all the state is doing is warehousing people 24/7 boardum that learn violence and new ways to commit crimes that are coming home.
You can't just lock humans up in 4 walls and expect them not to entertain themselves. You get people going into prison whom are not violent yet their classified as violent they don't do drugs none of that but sitting day after day after day with nothing the only entertainment is negative then they wind up doing drugs when they never have before they fight one another. But fighting staff no their not dumb any nys correctional facility is hands on you guys will stop someone just cuz you don't like how their wearing their pants you'll mess with their mail, their packages, their visits, you'll toss out their tobacco and stomp on it you cuff them up and start whooping their asses then toss them in a cell till their better And hit them with tier 3 tickets assult on staff. Inmates are at the the mercy of the guards. The complaint of staff shortage is the only valid complaint you guys got.
And this strike is nothing but a show that's going to create riots all of Nys because now inmates are not being fed, their not getting medication, their being locked I'm dorms fending for themselves. Once their own food runs out their going to start taking from people. This is just a ploy because your co family is about to be charged with murdering that inmate. The stuff you guys do is coming to light and you don't like it. The only valid argument is yes their is staff shortage and more staff is needed. And the drugs that zombie drug is a huge problem. Maybe look at your own on that one though.

Inmates are locked down during the entire strike and I feel sorry for them.
