Great tips, thanks Leonie. I’ll have to try the home-made static spray with my fabulous-scent conditioner - the commercial spray I use smells like strong chemicals, yuk. One can also get commercial zipper and snap (popper where you are?) lubricant- I like it because it’s like a hard wax in a stick, very convenient, stays on, and less likely to run or drip and stain the fabric. Using this saved several garments that I would have chucked otherwise because I couldn’t fasten them.

If you're washing something that has a stain on it and can't go in the dryer, put a safety pin through the top seam or tag. You'll save yourself heat setting the stain.

Great tips. I love the one about the off the shoulder look. It's a look I love but it can be so annoying. I am off to get some of those hair things today to fix this problem and so happy. They can be used for the pants, too, when too snug. Thanks so much.

I always thought it was baking soda one uses for odors not baking powder but I'm glad to know this tip and the others were great too especially using the straightener for an iron. Brilliant!!

Great tips - now I will have to clean my white trainers ;-) The using the straightner as an iron is really nifty just be careful with delicate fabrics... Also, apparently dryer sheets can help reduce static.

A safety pin on the inside of your skirt/pants will also avoid static cling by diverting the charge. Thanks for all the tips.

thanks for the anti static diy spray! i am the static queen!!! in the morning everything looks great, then as the day wears on i get clingy skirts!! i usually wet my hands and run them over the inside of the skirt or use hair spray... but that doesnt work for long tho'. i will try your suggestion and the other suggestion about a safety pin on the inside!!!
