Las Vegas teachers worried about paying back $1,000 to CCSD

Multiple Clark County School District teachers have reached out to FOX5 saying they’re going to have to pay back $1,000 to the district after it erroneously sent them money meant for Title 1 staff.

Teachers who don't know they received $1000 more than they should have and/or don't feel the responsibility for pay it back should not be teachers! The teacher association wants to fight for them to keep the money they didn't earn? Do all teachers get $1000 they didn't earn either because of a mistake? or just the lucky one's?

I think both parties are responsible. The teachers shouldn’t get punished for the district’s mistake however why would you spend money that you usually don’t get. I once received a bonus and it said bonus on the paystub but because we never had bonuses, I confirmed with HR and my boss that that money was truly mine

I swear, Nevada have one of the worst school district. A lot of those teachers used that money for supplies for their classroom or paid bills. These teachers don’t make much! How are they going to pay it back? Damn sure not out their paychecks!

Just CCSD showing appreciation for its employees. Maybe if the US wasn't spending and sending billions for a war in Eastern Europe to protect the criminal business interests of Sniffer and son, it would have money for educators and other public servants?

It’s sad that in many states, if you’re single and a teacher that’ll mean either you are living with your parents or you have 1-2 roommates, smh. Why doesn’t the government pay all teachers a reasonable salary and weed out those teachers that are doing a poor job…make the profession competitive

these teachers shouldnt be punished for somone elses screw up..yes it might have been an accident that they got that money but that isnt their fault, they shouldnt be asked to pay it back

Those teachers sound like they don’t have a extra $1000 dollars in savings is the scariest thing about this. They can’t break there bank savings for a little $1000 dollars is frightening, what is going on with there budgeting.
