I remember when I saw the 2014 WC Final. I rooted for Germany, but I also rooted for Messi. A world championship would have punctuated his career perfectly.

That is why I found the final picture to be the saddest moment. I really wanted him to hold that trophy. It was a bittersweet final.

Update: Now that 2022 comes, Messi has one last shot at this before he becomes too old. If he can do it, he can put this agonizing narrative to rest. But there is a whole world to stand up against. The odds are not in his favor...

Update 2: He did it. But the fact that it took place in a nation that has as much passion for football as China has for freedom of expression... it leaves a sour taste in my mouth.

I still remember that day.
The night before I was so happy for my idol and I was fully excited to see Messi lifting WC trophy
It was july14 2014 in India when I switched off TV at 3.30 am with eyes full of tears
The next morning I had to go school and I tried my best not to cry.but I failed miserably
I just couldn't control tears flowing out of my eyes.
I was ridiculed and laughed at
All Ronaldo fans mocked Me
I just couldn't handle it
Till this day
Everytime I tried not to cry I just get the images of Messi walking past the world cup trophy in my mind
4 years passed and I have seen Messi losing 3 finals one in FIFA and two other in Copa
Life is so unfair
And here I am today just a month before FIFA world cup2018
With hopes and beliefs for Argentina winning world cup.i still trust Argentina squad and Messi.
Football owes Messi a FIFA world cup.
