I was 14 years old when Stormrider released. At that point I was into old rock music... Until a radio show I often listened to at night made a special night with 2 hours of Iced Earth, dedicated to the album release...
I was fascinated by that strange music I never had any contact with before... It took a while until I got contact to people listening to Slayer and Megadeth and I fully got addicted to metal.
Iced Earth had layed the groundwork and they´re one of my "personal top 5" up to this day :)
