I love that dye. I have to check that out. I think your skulls turned out way better than I expected.

On the forstner bits, the slower you drill the better. I use them on my lathe and have it turned down to around 100 rpm’s and get long continuous ribbon shavings. I know you don’t have one, but go grab a cheap drill press from harbor freight. You can pick up a pretty nice one for under $100, even less with a coupon. I’ve been using one for a few years now that I spent like $70 on. They’re great for what you and I are doing where you don’t have to be precise down to the .001’s. You’ll be glad you did when you do. Makes life much easier. Love your creations, brother. Most all are pure art. Thanks for taking the time to make the videos.

If you start the Fostner bit spinning backwards, it gouges out the perimeter of the hole you wish to drill, thus reducing chipping. I learned this trick recently from another content creator. Thank you for sharing your projects.

LOL!! This is so how I do things. I usually end up with a winter's worth of kindling with my projects. But in the end, I do end up with some cool shtuff. You've given me a great idea for the material I have. Time to have fun!

I have made several candle holders and planters and a drill press would be your best friend. Not only does a drill press make for better drilling, they speed up your work considerably. Cool vid!

Those skulls look like a alter to general grevious. When those embers were glowing it would be cool to match that light and dark color. Dont know if you can 2 tone with those stains and have it look good but if so can you do a vid showing what works and what dont . Cool ideas.

Make 3 more skull things, and you got yourself a set of table legs for a creepy side table.

I’ve been considering making planters with this technique cuz I’m a plant addict and have access to wood all the time . Gonna do it now ! Thanks 😊

Could you put some of the detail back in after the brushing? And they have carving block that show steps on carving symmetrical face.

Hey there! I want to burn and brush some pine for wood siding, I want to keep the black color but when I brush it away to get the grain to show it lightens the wood. Do you know of any black wood exterior grade stain that would work for this application?

Those projects came out looking great, man. Maybe it"s "cause it was by the lamp at the end, but what I would do with it is make a hole top to bottom, put a cord in it, and make a lamp of it. I think it will look sick with the light coming right from the top. It might bring out the skulls out. any way, it looks good the way it is. Thanks for sharing.

Have you tried slowing your drill down when you use the forsner bit with the hand held drill? It might help.

I am extremely new to wood working. Couldn't you have used a drill press for the candle and plant holes?
