Kenny Vaughan Interview: Stories include taking lessons from Bill Frisell… traveling all over the midwest, and ultimately getting hooked up with Marty Stuart - who he's been playing with, since 2002. Kenny also talks about Marty’s unusual friendship with Johnny Cash... Also, a great story about flamenco guitarist Paco de Lucía and a bag of weed… jazz player Jimmy Smith… the happiest moments in Kenny’s life... and which notes you do (and don’t) need to play when playing jazz chords...

Kenny Vaughan Interview: Kenny’s been playing professionally since he was 12 years old, and actually opened up for Tommy Bolin Archives band Zephyr, in Denver.

Kenny is a living legend. Man what a picker. His bandmate Chris Scruggs is an animal too. Awesome interview.

I first saw Kenny because I love Marty Stuart's music. But after watching that group for a while, Kenny has become one of my all-time favorite musicians. I watch all of his interviews and I'm fascinated by the stories he tells.

I've had the pleasure to see KV live with MS at least a half a dozen times, spent time with him after a show and he was kind enough to autograph my 63 Tele. I can't say enough good stuff about the man, his talent, and the mark he is choosing to leave on our planet. God Bless KV and thanks for the great interview.

This is the 3rd episode in a row that’s been recommended to me. First Dam Baird brought me here. What an incredible talk that was! Otis Gibbs put me on to the genius of Dan Baird and Kenny Vaughn. I’m just starting down this rabbit hole. I can’t wait to find more. He’s a monster in that tele. Great podcast and great questions. Very cool work you’re doing here.

I remember running away from home when I was 6 to go the record store with my older sister to get a record I couldn’t life without. When I got home I got the strap for getting my sister in trouble. but it was worth it. still love music to this day. So nice to hear the harmonies etc guitar picking it enspires me even to this day. Love this stuff more exciting to me than being fancy. I play guitar now wish I could play with these guys just once.

I saw Marty and the Fabulous Superlatives at the Romp festival in Owensboro KY, and they were truly fabulous

I thoroughly enjoyed this interview. I saw Marty Stuart and the Fabulous Superlatives earlier this year (2023). They played the best show I’ve seen and heard in a long long time. I’m hoping I get to see them again before tickets get much higher. I paid $44.95 and I think it was a bargain .This band is just fantastic.
