The colours you see when he’s flying is definitely a 2001 reference. And it’s no secret interstellar is heavily inspired by 2001. Cant wait to see this!

I like Chris’ take on Buzz, he kinda sounds like a combination of Tim Allen and Patrick Warburton (previous voices for Buzz) while at the same time making it his own.

The trailer is so Pixar bright and cheerful but...there's just a sense of foreboding I get from watching it. A dark undertone. Is it just me?

I disagree with it being an "Interstellar ripoff", a very similar scene was also in 2001: A Space Odyssey.

That warp doesn’t necessarily look like a “rip off” of interstellar, it reminds me of a nod to 2001 A Space Odyssey?

I think it looks breathtaking. It's one of my most anticipated films of the year. Not all animated films need to be childish and this still has comedy.

This trailer doesn’t give us much about the plot but seems to show so much. I mean that is definitely Emperor Zurg but would have been nice to be surprised by that in the movie.

I'm loving these trailers. The tone is everything for me and it strikes the right balance of light hearted and dark and I'm here for it. Zurg looks TERRIFYING here and I love it. Also found out Michael Giacchino is doing the music and that just makes me even more excited.

I think they're choosing epic over fun and it may just be the right choice to set it apart from all the other iterations of the character, but not altogether since they're keeping the humor.

Maybe I'm just used to him being in Toy Story, but I swear that cat sounds a lot like Tom Hanks!
With Tim Allen likely involved in some kind of 'product launch' scene with the toy Buzz at the end, it would be nice to also have Tom back as the real Buzz's friend/sidekick too.

The Zurg tease, looks like he’s inspired by a mix of Vader and Thanos. I love Toy Story so look forward to this! Buzz deserves his own limelight

The way I see it: Buzz was a Toy based on an IP in Toy Story, right?
This is feels what the people watched in that universe. Similarly like the Woody TV show in the movies.
It's easy for me to separate the two, I guess.
It doesn't feel like a movie about toy Buzz but the Buzz the toy was derived from.

I think this movie is more of an homage to a bunch of different famous space movies. I mean, don't we all remember the Star Wars reference they made with Buzz and Zuirg in Toy Story 2? They're going for a blend of sci-fi tropes here.

I think it looks really good and I would hope that by June, Disney wouldn't need to go the "30 days to Disney+" route because cases will have dropped significantly.

I didn’t see toy story 4 cause toy story was my childhood and I thought it ended perfectly at 3. I am coming around to this. This actually looks promising

It's almost as if Grace doesn't like to be emotionally wrecked by a film. Which is a fine choice to make for one self. But I think as a movie critic you should be able to judge emotional moments fairly.

This looks much better than expected and that scene where he's flying a gorgeous little callback to 2001. The movie actually looks like everything I would have expected from a Buzz Lightyear origin story if I;m honest.

As for the movie lacking colour, the flight scene is the opposite of that but I think you also gotta take into account that it's set in space.
