how do we take a picture of forever? imagine walking in a straight line... forever...and we still only saw a piece of forever.

There is no evidence of an end to the universe. Yet.

How could an end look like? Be nust a border? Every once in a while i get the urge to check some videos about the universe and everytime it fucks up my brain because i can picture any of this i cant start ti comprehend how imsane the unoverse is

“The infinite, as in infinite past time, is nowhere to be found in reality. It neither exists in nature nor provides a legitimate basis for rational thought. The role that remains for the infinite is solely that of an idea.... If an essential use of infinity occurs as a core part of any explanatory model, it's not science.” - David Hilbert

What's harder to wrap your head around ? The Universe has no end in all directions, or the Universe has boundaries ?

It's actually impossible for it to not be infinite. What is it just stop all of a sudden? If there was a boundary that would have to be infinitely thick, now wouldn't it? Or they would have to be something on the other side of that and which doesn't make any sense at all… Therefore it's infinite.

I don't really understand how the universe could possibly be infinite. After the big bang it began to expand, right? And it's still expanding. How can something infinite still become larger? 🧐

Brian. Please I have a very pertinent question.
If we are all from the Big Bang that is moving outwards at immense spread.
Why is andromeda coming towards us from a single explosion moving outwards? Also why are other galaxies not parallel and moving at the same speed alongside us at the same trajectory with some minimal degree changes from there spurt from the Big Bang? Why are there not other galaxies behind us moving in the same direction, as they have been made after ours ? When you make a 360 degree explosion, all things expel outwards (as you state the universe is). However, Andromeda is coming towards us.
This confuses me, as an ex military guy. An explosion only does outwards, and never returns. !

If the universe is infinite, then time is infinite. In both directions. There is no beginning and there will be no end. It doesn't go against theology, because theology refers to mankind, it's birth snd eventual death. But the universe is infinite in both time and space.

picture a ball or a balloon that is infinitely expanding and compare it to the big bang theory of our universe infinitely expanding. In this case there is an edge on the ball/balloon/ matter expanding. Now what is past that edge or balloon barrier? It is nothing right? Endless nothing and that is infinity. Hard to grasp and impossible to picture. Endless 'space' in all directions forever. On the other side if there is a barrier or wall then what is on the other side? There has to be more and thus endless or infinite.

you might not be able to imagine infinity.. its easy.. start counting then, multiply it by itself then keep doubling it faster and faster.. adding to all sides (including inside) and you get this weird feeling of thickness.. like a rolled up millipede it full round and hard and is everywhere.. there is a word in Shona "chongolola" its that feeling abound your finger .. you just have to let go..like an exploding curled cone but more.. the thickness you becomes aware of a thickness.. it used to irritate me as a kid.. that thickness.. but now its comforting

Cool thing about reality is you can't think up anything that doesn't already exist some where in the universe. If you think about if the universe is Infinite congrats you just made it Infinite even if it wasn't before

How do you measure distance to a dot of light? Something like “Red Shift” only tells you how fast something is moving directly away from you, not how long it’s been doing that. I doubt that Triangulation with Earth’s Solar Orbit as a Baseline could do it. Very weak Geometry.

What do you mean know one can picture infinite, it's a huge area on REPLAY. 👍🏽

I don’t understand. How can the universe not be infinite? If it’s not infinite, what’s on the outside of its parameters?

If we think darkness as physical entity then we cannot picture infinity. If we perceive darkness as Non-physical such as emptiness or nothingness then we can picture infinity only by the mind and not by the senses. The senses can only perceive physical. The mind can perceive Non-physical by absolute silence. Absolute silence can be attained by closing the eyes and not thinking about anything.

Of course the universe is infinite. Even if you come to some sort of barrier surrounding our universe, there is something on the other side of that barrier.
