Here are the details of the planned destruction of Killiecrankie Battlefield, by Transport Scotland. We show their marker pegs on the battlefield. This is the first time we can see on the ground where the new A9 carriageway go.

We walk you along the battle line of the Scottish Government Battalions. Show you the 'killing fields' where many of the 2,000 Jacobite clansmen and government troops died that day, 27th July 1689.

How Transport Scotland plan to obliterate that land for ever.

We explain in detail where some of the most intense fighting took place and how the proposals will prevent future generations from understanding this important Jacobite battle.

We need your help to get the Scottish Government and the First Minister in particular to stop this destruction. Scottish Government hold all the powers to stop this destruction.

Please tell them to stop the destruction of our Scottish Jacobite History at Killiecrankie Battlefield by:-

or by letter addressed to:-
'The First Minister of Scotland,
Unit 3 Govanhill Workspace,
69 Dixon Road ,
Glasgow G42 8AT'.

Have just seen your video. Thank you. I’m interested to know if this appalling destruction of the battlefield by Transport Scotland was eventually stopped or went ahead?

The archaeologists backed by a large number of metal detectorists from www.detectingscotland.com scoured the area indicated for the A9 upgrade at killiekrankie and recovered artefacts associated with the battle. This assisted them in choosing which parts to use and which parts to not use. I found a sword hanger amongst other things

Why couldn't they just leave it as a single carriageway for just this stretch? Can't be more than a mile in length.

Try petitioning Historic scotland to declare the site a scheduled ancient monument. Crowdfund to bring a legal case against planning and the roads as well as getting public support by all
Means of SM

I am struck by the difference between us and the Americans. They seem to face little difficulty protecting and preserving their battlefield sites. In the UK, esp Scotland, any developer who wants to nibble away at our historic sites is given carte blanche no matter how many people resist. Given that this is a government transport project, I feel gloomy about the prospects for preservation.
